Our goal is to provide excellent service to all customers while preventing abuse that could negatively impact the experience of others.
2. Fair Use Principles
Simple Time is designed for legitimate business use by field service teams. Fair use means:
- Using the service for its intended purpose of time tracking and workforce management
- Operating within reasonable usage parameters for your subscription plan
- Not engaging in activities that degrade service quality for other users
- Respecting system resources and infrastructure limitations
3. Usage Guidelines
API Usage
If your plan includes API access, the following guidelines apply:
- API calls should be reasonable and proportionate to your business needs
- Implement appropriate caching to minimize redundant requests
- Rate limits apply and vary by subscription plan
- Bulk operations should be performed during off-peak hours when possible
Storage and Data
Each plan includes reasonable storage for:
- Time entry records and historical data
- Photos and attachments related to work orders
- Documents and reports
- User profiles and organizational data
Storage should be used for legitimate business purposes. Excessive storage of unrelated content is not permitted.
User Accounts
User accounts should represent actual individuals in your organization:
- Sharing of individual user credentials is prohibited
- Creating multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits is not allowed
- Inactive accounts should be deactivated promptly
4. Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited:
- Automated abuse: Using bots, scripts, or automated tools to manipulate the service in unintended ways
- Data harvesting: Systematic collection of data beyond your legitimate business needs
- Resource monopolization: Activities that consume excessive system resources
- Service reselling: Reselling or redistributing the service without authorization
- Security violations: Attempting to breach, test, or circumvent security measures
- Fraudulent activity: Using the service for fraudulent time tracking or billing
- Illegal purposes: Any use that violates applicable laws or regulations
5. Plan Limits
Each subscription plan has specific limits and features. Common limitations include:
- User count: Maximum number of active users per organization
- Storage: Total storage space for photos, documents, and attachments
- API calls: Rate limits for API integrations (where applicable)
- Features: Access to certain features based on plan tier
Detailed plan specifications are available on our pricing page. If you consistently exceed your plan limits, we may contact you to discuss upgrading to a more suitable plan.
6. Monitoring and Enforcement
Simple Time reserves the right to monitor usage to ensure compliance with this Policy. We may take the following actions in response to violations:
- Warning: Notification of the violation with a request to correct the behavior
- Throttling: Temporary reduction in service capabilities
- Suspension: Temporary suspension of account access
- Termination: Permanent termination for severe or repeated violations
We will make reasonable efforts to contact you before taking enforcement action, except in cases where immediate action is necessary to protect the service or other users.
7. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of any violation of this Policy, please report it to us immediately at abuse@simpletime.io. All reports will be investigated and treated confidentially.
8. Good Faith
We understand that occasional spikes in usage or unintentional violations may occur. We will always act in good faith and work with customers to resolve issues before taking enforcement action.
